Meet the Owner
A licensed contractor in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Ben Srigley found his vocation as a construction expert in 1990, while working in his father’s cabinet shop in Charlottesville, Virginia. He became a master cabinet builder and contributed his woodworking expertise to a diverse and extensive array of remodeling projects. Four years later, he joined a general contractor’s team as a carpenter and gained exposure to all phases of residential and light commercial construction, including concrete form work and slabs, wood and steel framing, drywall installation, painting, hardwood flooring installation, and custom interior and exterior trim creation and application.
Determined to take his career to the next level, Ben became a foreman for another general contractor in 1996 and made it his business to learn all he could from his electrical, mechanical, and plumbing subcontractors. He also developed his skill in large-project management, project scheduling, and labor- and material-flow management.
In 1998, Ben followed his entrepreneurial instincts and founded his own construction company with a focus on residential construction. In 2001, he joined with his father to found Srigley Construction; the firm focused on custom home building, speculative homes, and residential and light commercial projects. In 2010, he accepted a position as a project manager for a firm in Silver Spring, MD, focusing on large residential remodeling projects.
Ben leveraged his accumulated experience in construction, remodeling, and project management to found Touchstone Remodelers, LLC in 2011. The firm has seen rapid growth since its inception, currently staffing five employees and boasting a professional network of the finest subcontractors in the DC metropolitan area. Ben also enjoys working relationships with designers and architects in the region and is always pleased to forge new partnerships.
In addition to his vocation as a remodeling general contractor, Ben enjoys the active life. He is an instrument-rated private pilot and former amateur motorcycle racer. He and his wife enjoy sailing, skiing, golf, and travel.
